In 2006 Miller Manufacturing Company celebrates 65 years of business! We have our customers, employees, and suppliers to thank for our continued success in serving the farm, ranch, and pet industries.
Founded in 1941, Miller began manufacturing a line of poultry feeding and watering products for both commercial and non-commercial farmers and ranchers. The non-commercial market, better known today as 'backyard hobbyists' is where Miller eventually focused its efforts. Over the years, Miller added feeding and watering products for all animal types under the LITTLE GIANT® name. These products have earned the reputation of being high quality, 'farm tough', and are readily available at almost any farm and ranch retailer. Today, hobby farmers and enthusiasts of all types use hundreds of products manufactured by Miller.
Until 1996, Miller Manufacturing was family owned and operated. At that time, Dennis Frandsen of Frandsen Corporation purchased Miller. Miller has proved to be a good fit for Frandsen, who owns several other manufacturing companies. You can learn more about Dennis Frandsen and Frandsen Corporation by visiting www.frandsencorporation.com.
In September of 2002, Miller Manufacturing acquired Hot-Shot Products Co. Inc., located in Savage, Minnesota. Hot-Shot® is a leading manufacturer of high quality livestock handling equipment, best known for its complete line of 'Hot-Shot' electric livestock prods. Hot-Shot® was also a family owned and operated business started in 1939, with a similar culture and customer base as Miller. The company now operates as a division of Miller Manufacturing, with the production and distribution continuing at its Savage, MN facility.
In the fall of 2005, three of Miller's facilities were consolidated into one location in Glencoe, Minnesota, just one hour west of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The new facility, with close to 300,000 square feet, houses Miller's state of the art Distribution Center, along with its Metal and Rubber manufacturing divisions. The Glencoe facility allows Miller to continue to supply its complete catalog of products to its customers.
Today, Miller employs about 150 people who are all dedicated to providing quality animal care products to the farm, ranch, and pet industries. With 65 years of experience, Miller looks forward to the next 65!
