Very bad design. The design as it is now is that you have to push down on the rubber stopper to block off the water when filling it up and lift up when done filling. I guess the designer forgot about gravity; my waterer is less than a month old the rubber stopper is already wore out and barely stays in the up position. This week in the middle of a heatwave the stopper fell down into the fill position stopping water from entering the dish. Had I not noticed the dish was bone dry my chickens would probably all be dead.

At $80 this already a rip off, and now it’s useless in less than a month. I bought mine at Fleet Farm and so didn’t look at the other 1 star reviews here. I wish would have, I would not have bought it.

Purchase the 8 gallon on. Useless, we’ve tried everything with the little red stopper, getting it perfectly level and making sure the cap is tight, but not too tight and the water just overflows and spills all out. Such a waist of time! Now I have to re to return it and I’m an hour away from town and Rural King.

Bought the 5 gallon size. Water can’t be stopped no matter where the “plug” is placed. Completely dissatisfied as it cost me over $50. Water runs all over.

Had for less than a year and the tray is completely cracked. The supplier does not sell replacement parts. This was almost 100 dollars and you'd expect it last longer than 1 year.

Useless. $70 for the thing and 10 gallons of water all over the brooder because no matter where you place the goofy ring the water just keeps on flowing. Oh, I know, I'll go get the instructions like the product sticker states. Nope. No pdf available for this even though the limited instruction sticker states there is. Complete waste of money and, worse, my time.
